Water use and resource management is becoming one of Australia’s largest issues. Urban growth, climate change and new technologies are accelerating change with government and industry assessing better solutions. New infrastructure is required for efficient storage, treatment and distribution of water resources to support integrated solutions with urban growth, agribusiness, improved land management outcomes and upgrade existing infrastructure.
Our team provides strategic, commercial and technical services across the water sector including:
SIA led a private sector proposal to support the NSW government with the delivery of a pipeline between Glennies Creek and Lostock Dams.
The Glennies to Lostock pipeline is a priority under the 2018 State Infrastructure Strategy and is needed by WaterNSW to support the infrastructure resilience of its network, supporting HunterWater with the provision of water to local residents as well as supporting the regional economic transition of the region.
The proposed project also considered the development of a pumped hydro storage facility on the site that could be operated on an open contract firming basis that could provide up to 1GW of 8 hour storage capacity each day to the NSW energy market.
